A good airpad is completely indispensable if you're sleeping on the ground in the cold

I had terrible dehydration once in the field because my camelbak froze and I had to sit in a humvee with the heat blowing on it to not pass out

Easy fix, just mix a little ethylene glycol into your reservoir

Good trick if you’re in a hammock or something is to take a down jacket or warm jacket and zip it around your feet for an added layer of insulation

Or put boiling water in a nalgene and drop it in the bottom of your bag. Heat the bitch up and you wake up with non frozen water. Just make sure to screw the cap on tight as all fuck and only fill 3/4 of the way
