i mean im a hobby gunsmith and i dont have headspace gauges
I have an AR15 and I'm a Lego builder and I have never headspaced a gun
if my shit blows up that will be my punishment
And yet they continue to have kabooms on ar15 snob free
Heres a mockup. Everything forward of the receiver is obviously not torqued.
Tight is more common than loose anyways
I headspace gauge everything I build
I have them for AKs, but I just buy barreled uppers normally
>i have the lower assembled
wheres your bolt catch bro
The trigger is a little mushy and fails to reset sometimes
But that’s because 80%
And I've never had factory parts gauge out too loose
Oh. Yeah. So the bolt catch is still a problem. It barely scrapes the 2 lower lugs so it doesn't really work right. I've got a new milspec catch on the way so I can see if that's the issue.
@glacial pace the spring flew across the room
Who said it
Who said that 80 looked clean
I took the catch off for now.
the fcg pocket looked clean 😔
Milling an 80 has fuck all to do with the catch.
I said it looked clean, but I’ve really only seen a few that weren’t fucking disasters
the only things that you could have fucked up are the fire control group and selector hole
80 builders seem to trend low iq
@[redacted] exactly. Anyone who knows how to do an 80 would know this.
80 suppliers too
Even the selector hole is hard to completely fuck
yeah its not that you fucked it up its that your 80 is shit lmfao
I've seen 80s run fine with a selector that was drilled improperly
felt like shit but functioned fine
My 80 is from Noreen.
What were you using as a reference video for assembling your lower?
I think they may have fucked the pocket up but I'm going to test another catch first.
Lmao
Check the inside of your trigger pocket
Did you mill into anything farther forward than you were supposed to
What bcg
what jig were you using?
If you milled too far forward you could go into mag release pocket/bolt catch pocket
I don't know how you could do that
5d tactical jig. Almost impossible to go too far forward.
It's possible to make your catch pivot more as well if it's a desperate situation
