this *is* something you can fuck up, horribly

2020-01-13 19:38:45 UTC

Fuck it it’s just a gun

2020-01-13 19:38:52 UTC

Do you have the barrel nut and handguard yet?

2020-01-13 19:39:15 UTC

inb4 he pins the gb before putting the nut on

2020-01-13 19:39:21 UTC

I wasn't going to torque the barrel nut, jesus.

2020-01-13 19:39:30 UTC

ngl i've done that before 😔
but it was just set screwed

2020-01-13 19:39:32 UTC

Damn I've done that before

2020-01-13 19:39:35 UTC

And yes, I have it.

2020-01-13 19:39:43 UTC

But it was the metal ring on t91 handguard

2020-01-13 19:39:45 UTC

Have what

2020-01-13 19:39:45 UTC

it only damaged my pride, nothing else

2020-01-13 19:39:59 UTC

Pinned the flash hider with parts missing

2020-01-13 19:40:06 UTC

The handguard. I have everything to make it functional aside from an optic.

2020-01-13 19:40:31 UTC

And my gas block has set screws.

2020-01-13 19:40:33 UTC

Do you have headspace gauges?

2020-01-13 19:40:41 UTC

Nyet.

2020-01-13 19:40:55 UTC

No AR15 Lego 'builder' has headspace gauges

2020-01-13 19:41:10 UTC

Correct

2020-01-13 19:41:14 UTC

i mean im a hobby gunsmith and i dont have headspace gauges

2020-01-13 19:41:21 UTC

I have an AR15 and I'm a Lego builder and I have never headspaced a gun

2020-01-13 19:41:23 UTC

if my shit blows up that will be my punishment

2020-01-13 19:41:28 UTC

And yet they continue to have kabooms on ar15 snob free

2020-01-13 19:41:40 UTC

Heres a mockup. Everything forward of the receiver is obviously not torqued.

2020-01-13 19:41:40 UTC

Tight is more common than loose anyways

2020-01-13 19:41:56 UTC

I headspace gauge everything I build

2020-01-13 19:42:08 UTC

I have them for AKs, but I just buy barreled uppers normally

2020-01-13 19:42:15 UTC

>i have the lower assembled
wheres your bolt catch bro

2020-01-13 19:42:18 UTC

The trigger is a little mushy and fails to reset sometimes

2020-01-13 19:42:25 UTC

But that’s because 80%

2020-01-13 19:42:26 UTC

And I've never had factory parts gauge out too loose

2020-01-13 19:43:19 UTC

Oh. Yeah. So the bolt catch is still a problem. It barely scrapes the 2 lower lugs so it doesn't really work right. I've got a new milspec catch on the way so I can see if that's the issue.

2020-01-13 19:43:20 UTC

@glacial pace the spring flew across the room

2020-01-13 19:43:41 UTC

Who said it

2020-01-13 19:43:48 UTC

Who said that 80 looked clean

2020-01-13 19:43:53 UTC

I took the catch off for now.

2020-01-13 19:44:02 UTC

the fcg pocket looked clean 😔

2020-01-13 19:44:10 UTC

Milling an 80 has fuck all to do with the catch.

2020-01-13 19:44:38 UTC

I said it looked clean, but I’ve really only seen a few that weren’t fucking disasters

2020-01-13 19:44:51 UTC

There's no way you fucked up the catch

2020-01-13 19:45:04 UTC

the only things that you could have fucked up are the fire control group and selector hole

2020-01-13 19:45:10 UTC

80 builders seem to trend low iq
