What DID happen to all italian yugoslavs?

I live in Slovenia, I am ethnically Slovenian, our region had the largest concentration of these "italian yugoslavs" (despite them being pilgrims of Italian irredentism) still exist today and always have. Our Littoral region has Italian as a second language because of the huge amount of Italians that always lived there (since Austria-Hungary)
