hoe if they were expelled?
jews have been given the boot countless time after that also though
how
the boot doesnt mean they cant work as a banker
money is money
a good banker is a good banker
But then again, if Judaism was polytheistic, then Christianity wouldn’t exist, and likely Islam after that.
romans became christian eventually
I’m aware.
But if Christianity didn’t exist, obviously the Romans wouldn’t be Christian.
yup
And as for the Crusades, the Crusaders were fairly equal with who they killed. It was mostly just random slaughter with no regard for one’s religion, especially during the Sacking of Jerusalem in the 1st Crusade.
I’m in no way defending them, though. The Crusaders were assholes, and the 4th Crusade is the reason my inner Greek cries themselves to sleep every night.
Crusaders were the bad guys then and the jihadists were good
still is the case today
jihad means defending the holy land
that is NOT what isis is doing
so they arent actual jihadists
I would say the Syrian army and Kurds are the real jihadists and jihad by definition is pretty good
I mean "jihad" just means struggle
Islam was a fundamentally good thing from the end of the Arab conquests to the rise of the Mongols and later the Ottomans, this period being the Islamic Golden Age.
The Muslim world was the center of progress in the world at that time, and other monotheistic religions like Judaism, Christianity and Zoroastrianism were not persecuted at all, as the Arabs found their religions to basically be worshiping the same single deity, just in different ways.
However, as the rest of the world began to progress, Islamic thought had yet to reform, and hasn’t seen much of a positive change at all in almost 700 years.
Hell, debatably it’s gone backwards, as tolerance of the other two Abrahamic religions has been significantly reduced.
Plus the Arab Slave Trade is still going on in North Africa and some parts of the Middle East, a practice most of the civilized world has abandoned by now.
TL;DR, Islam was good when it’s practices were relevant.
islam isn't at fault
blame the british colonies there
as usual, the anglos are at fault
the middle east was split into arbitrary borders that set off the ethnic chaos we see now
There’d been ethnic chaos in the Middle East ever since the Turks ruled it, possibly even past that.
Eternal Anglo strikes again
Then entire reason the British carved up the area in the first place was because the native Arabs were easy to manipulate into making deals because they were so pissed off at the Turks.
Conflicts were in the making, the British just happened to unknowingly accelerate it.
Even if the Ottomans won WWI along with the Central Powers the Empire would’ve fallen to numerous Arab revolts.
yes but an arab revolt would've been better than anglo colonialism
anti-anglo gang when?
***N O W***
I’m trying to say that the issues had been in motion before the Brits even thought about colonizing the Middle East.
Oh yeah, not to mention the Sunni-Shi’ite split in the region.
If there’s one thing the British and the French did right, it was separating them.
The vast majority of British-occupied Iraq was Shi’ite, with the exception of the Sunni Bedouins of the southern deserts.
And French Syria was specifically separate from French Lebanon because of the religious preferences of the two regions.
