It's called being a religious fanatic

2018-05-23 17:09:39 UTC

n o

2018-05-23 17:10:08 UTC

ok

2018-05-23 17:15:40 UTC

The Jews were exiled by the Romans because their monotheistic views didn’t align with the Roman’s ability to integrate polytheistic gods from other cultures with polytheistic pantheons, if Judaism had multiple gods they likely wouldn’t have been expelled as early as they were.

2018-05-23 17:16:03 UTC

Wasn’t necessarily out of hate, just that they were stubborn.

2018-05-23 17:16:34 UTC

dont people claim the jews were responsible for jesus death?

2018-05-23 17:16:42 UTC

hoe if they were expelled?

2018-05-23 17:16:45 UTC

jews have been given the boot countless time after that also though

2018-05-23 17:16:46 UTC

how

2018-05-23 17:17:04 UTC

the boot doesnt mean they cant work as a banker

2018-05-23 17:17:12 UTC

money is money

2018-05-23 17:17:19 UTC

a good banker is a good banker

2018-05-23 17:17:26 UTC

But then again, if Judaism was polytheistic, then Christianity wouldn’t exist, and likely Islam after that.

2018-05-23 17:17:54 UTC

romans became christian eventually

2018-05-23 17:18:03 UTC

I’m aware.

2018-05-23 17:18:34 UTC

But if Christianity didn’t exist, obviously the Romans wouldn’t be Christian.

2018-05-23 17:18:51 UTC

yup

2018-05-23 17:25:45 UTC

And as for the Crusades, the Crusaders were fairly equal with who they killed. It was mostly just random slaughter with no regard for one’s religion, especially during the Sacking of Jerusalem in the 1st Crusade.

2018-05-23 17:26:30 UTC

I’m in no way defending them, though. The Crusaders were assholes, and the 4th Crusade is the reason my inner Greek cries themselves to sleep every night.

2018-05-23 18:21:04 UTC

Crusaders were the bad guys then and the jihadists were good

2018-05-23 18:21:22 UTC

still is the case today

2018-05-23 18:21:29 UTC

jihad means defending the holy land

2018-05-23 18:21:35 UTC

that is NOT what isis is doing

2018-05-23 18:21:44 UTC

so they arent actual jihadists

2018-05-23 18:22:05 UTC

I would say the Syrian army and Kurds are the real jihadists and jihad by definition is pretty good

2018-05-23 18:22:40 UTC

I mean "jihad" just means struggle

2018-05-23 18:33:49 UTC

Islam was a fundamentally good thing from the end of the Arab conquests to the rise of the Mongols and later the Ottomans, this period being the Islamic Golden Age.

2018-05-23 18:35:48 UTC

The Muslim world was the center of progress in the world at that time, and other monotheistic religions like Judaism, Christianity and Zoroastrianism were not persecuted at all, as the Arabs found their religions to basically be worshiping the same single deity, just in different ways.

2018-05-23 18:37:37 UTC

However, as the rest of the world began to progress, Islamic thought had yet to reform, and hasn’t seen much of a positive change at all in almost 700 years.

2018-05-23 18:38:56 UTC

Hell, debatably it’s gone backwards, as tolerance of the other two Abrahamic religions has been significantly reduced.

2018-05-23 18:39:58 UTC

Plus the Arab Slave Trade is still going on in North Africa and some parts of the Middle East, a practice most of the civilized world has abandoned by now.

2018-05-23 18:40:50 UTC

TL;DR, Islam was good when it’s practices were relevant.

2018-05-23 18:46:09 UTC

islam isn't at fault
blame the british colonies there
as usual, the anglos are at fault

2018-05-23 18:46:31 UTC

the middle east was split into arbitrary borders that set off the ethnic chaos we see now

2018-05-23 18:49:21 UTC

There’d been ethnic chaos in the Middle East ever since the Turks ruled it, possibly even past that.

2018-05-23 18:49:48 UTC

Eternal Anglo strikes again

2018-05-23 18:50:39 UTC

Then entire reason the British carved up the area in the first place was because the native Arabs were easy to manipulate into making deals because they were so pissed off at the Turks.

2018-05-23 18:51:23 UTC

Conflicts were in the making, the British just happened to unknowingly accelerate it.

2018-05-23 18:52:18 UTC

Even if the Ottomans won WWI along with the Central Powers the Empire would’ve fallen to numerous Arab revolts.

2018-05-23 18:52:36 UTC

yes but an arab revolt would've been better than anglo colonialism

2018-05-23 18:53:06 UTC

anti-anglo gang when?
