2018-08-11 14:13:13 UTC

Lol

2018-08-11 14:17:57 UTC

@Mr. X I'm not sure, but it's kinda complicated.

2018-08-11 14:18:24 UTC

So the Japanese have to learn 4 writing systems. Kana (Katakana and Hiragana), Kanji (Chinese symbols, Korean and Vietnamese had that too) and Romaji which is Japanese in the Latin alphabet.

2018-08-11 14:18:36 UTC

I think they write something in Romaji and it's transcribed into the Japanese symbol, but I'm not sure.

2018-08-11 14:18:41 UTC

That's what one guy told me at least lol.

2018-08-11 14:19:17 UTC

Otherwise I can't imagine their keyboards having so many fucking symbols for 3 different writing systems, and the last one with over 9000 symbols.

2018-08-11 14:20:12 UTC

They would need to be yuge.

2018-08-11 14:20:34 UTC

Jesus

2018-08-11 14:20:42 UTC

XD?

2018-08-11 14:20:55 UTC

that's a lot of things to learn

2018-08-11 14:20:56 UTC

>over 9000

2018-08-11 14:21:22 UTC

2018-08-11 14:21:47 UTC

You'd be surprised, but this is actually close to the truth.

2018-08-11 14:23:20 UTC

2018-08-11 14:23:25 UTC

oml

2018-08-11 14:23:34 UTC

I think it's pretty bad even in Simplified used in China outside of HK and Macao.

2018-08-11 14:24:32 UTC

OK I can't find the exact number and difference between that so won't help you.

2018-08-11 14:24:40 UTC

Aside Japanese also Korean, Vietnamese and Zhuang used the Chinese characters.

2018-08-11 14:25:34 UTC

Most of the writing systems used in Eurasia are developed from the Egyptian hieroglyphs, but Sumerian and Chinese were developed independently.

2018-08-11 14:26:27 UTC

Wow

2018-08-11 14:30:23 UTC

😱

2018-08-11 14:33:20 UTC

The good part is that you only need to learn like 2XXX of them in Japanese which are commonly used, which is still pretty fucking much.

2018-08-11 14:38:35 UTC

Good thing violence is a universal language 😏

2018-08-11 14:49:07 UTC
