Many, many things, such as oil becoming impractical to use within the next few decades, the population being unable to sustain itself, as well as drugs becoming more and more inefficent at combating diseases which are now adapting to them, and are becoming more and more fatal, just to name a few.

Oil extraction has not improved hardly at all since the 90s, only more safeguards have been put in place to prevent the oil from catastroughically leaking which still happens from time to time, big pharma is now hardly able to combat the new epidemic of resistant diseases, since once you begin treating people with a certain drug, it will become useless when the disease appears again, meaning they they have to constantly make dozens of new drugs for thousands of diseases which are becoming more common, which can be fatal if untreated, as expected, costs of this have become outrageous as a result.

And because this takes a lot of time to do, with production, testing, and acquiring the ingredients for such drugs, people will still die from resistant diseases anyways because of low supply.
