The Torah and the Bible
The Torah, Prophets (Nevi’im) and the Writings (Ketuvim) collectively make up The Hebrew Bible (what Christians refer to as the Old Testament). The Bible is often referred to by the Hebrew acronym TaNaKh (usually spelled Tanakh, or Tanach )

@Chaiske >Myjewishlearning
I sure trust a rabbi on this.

2018-05-30 22:29:56 UTC

its not necessarily a rabbi

2018-05-30 22:30:08 UTC

could simply be someone who is knowledgable in the subject

2018-05-30 22:30:20 UTC

@Chaiske Who is this guy and why should I trust him?>

2018-05-30 22:30:50 UTC

It's a resource on Catholic learning, and the Catholic church is the largest Christian denomination in the world?

2018-05-30 22:31:03 UTC

@Chaiske Yes, because the catholics certainly haven't been wittled down over time.

2018-05-30 22:31:10 UTC

Do you have any proof of that?

2018-05-30 22:31:25 UTC

You're constantly doubting me and all my proof without actually showing any evidence to weigh your arguments on your end.

2018-05-30 22:31:33 UTC

I'm sorry, but at this point it seems to me like you're committed in your opinion.

2018-05-30 22:31:47 UTC

Any further argument at this point is really just going to be a debacle in sophistry.

2018-05-30 22:32:00 UTC

I'll be the first to throw my towel in and consider this conversation ended.

2018-05-30 22:32:12 UTC

You may call yourself the winner if you'd like, if you have such petty sentiments, not that I am assuming you do.

2018-05-30 22:32:18 UTC

Regardless, thank you for your time.

2018-05-30 22:32:38 UTC

heres something about the only appearance of christ in the old testament

2018-05-30 22:32:43 UTC

but fr dude

2018-05-30 22:32:52 UTC

whats the point of debating if you only debate in bad faith

2018-05-30 22:33:02 UTC

@Chaiske Well if you want to do that then.

2018-05-30 22:33:36 UTC

@Uninteresting This literally states how he appeared in the bible, are you blind?

2018-05-30 22:33:40 UTC

but anyway the website basically makes the claim that jesus never actually appeared "in the flesh"

2018-05-30 22:33:45 UTC

@Deleted User read the entire thing

2018-05-30 22:33:55 UTC

theyre all interpretations of christ

2018-05-30 22:34:05 UTC

@Uninteresting 6-In Josh. 5:13-15, it speaks of how Christ appeared to Joshua. Joshua was near Jericho when he saw a man with a sword drawn. Immediately Joshua wanted to know if he was friend or foe and he was told by the man that he was captain of the Lord’s host. Upon hearing this, Joshua fell on his face and worshiped him. This man did not stop Joshua from worshiping Him as any other servant of the Lord would do (Acts 10:26; 14:15; Rev. 19:10; 22:9 where servants of God stopped other men from worshiping them). Joshua asked Jesus what His message was and Jesus responded by telling Joshua to take off his shoes because he was on holy ground, which is the same thing he told Moses in Exodus when He appeared to him in a burning bush.

Read the fucking articles before you post them.

2018-05-30 22:36:18 UTC

from a quick google search of the actual quote in question

2018-05-30 22:36:23 UTC

jesus was never once mentionned

2018-05-30 22:36:40 UTC

He sure as hell was mentioned right in that quote from the bible.

2018-05-30 22:36:49 UTC

13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?”

14 “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord[a] have for his servant?”

15 The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.

2018-05-30 22:37:03 UTC

do you see jesus in there?

2018-05-30 22:37:41 UTC

"Joshua asked Jesus what His message was and Jesus responded by telling Joshua to take off his shoes because he was on holy ground"

2018-05-30 22:37:51 UTC

im giving you the actual quote from the bible

2018-05-30 22:38:02 UTC

And I am giving you the quote as well.

2018-05-30 22:38:06 UTC
