do you think people should get paid for their work?

2018-02-17 05:44:19 UTC

are you on a phone?

2018-02-17 05:44:29 UTC

yes, i do. but if bosses have all the power to decide to what extent in what manner they get paid, that's exploitation

2018-02-17 05:45:34 UTC

who do you think should decide what they get paid then?

2018-02-17 05:46:13 UTC

by and large, the local municipalities and democratic unions

2018-02-17 05:46:29 UTC

well the problem with that is there is no motivation to do any actual work

2018-02-17 05:46:48 UTC

people will just keep voting themselves more and more money without producing anything

2018-02-17 05:47:46 UTC

which isn't going to work out very well

2018-02-17 05:48:16 UTC

because there won't be any actual money to pay anyone if that company doesn't produce any product that they can sell

2018-02-17 05:50:42 UTC

it sounds to me like you're stating as a rule that we think "more money" is the only solution we can think of.
that's honestly pretty pessimistic, dude

2018-02-17 05:50:57 UTC

what?

2018-02-17 05:51:15 UTC

whatever you are going to negotiate fo it's the same

2018-02-17 05:51:24 UTC

more benefits, less hours

2018-02-17 05:51:27 UTC

whatever

2018-02-17 05:51:35 UTC

ping pong tables at work

2018-02-17 05:52:02 UTC

the point is that none of it is connected to anyones job performance.

2018-02-17 05:52:09 UTC

you are just voting for stuff

2018-02-17 05:52:21 UTC

so no one is gonig to actually do there job

2018-02-17 05:53:09 UTC

i think the dead spaniards are rolling in their graves as we speak

2018-02-17 05:53:23 UTC

that's not a response

2018-02-17 05:54:24 UTC

you are denying history with your speculations on human nature.
everyone in the c.n.t. did their job, enthusiastically

2018-02-17 05:54:35 UTC

why can't we?

2018-02-17 05:55:59 UTC

well explain to me how that worked then

2018-02-17 05:58:11 UTC

why would anyone do there job enthusiastically when there is no reward for doing so?

2018-02-17 05:58:38 UTC

if I was working hard I would quickly become bitter by those who worked aorund me who slacked off and didn't face consequences

2018-02-17 05:59:01 UTC

that's or I would just started slacking off myself, let some other chump do the work well I just kick back and collect

2018-02-17 05:59:44 UTC

what's any one persons individual motivation to do anything?

2018-02-17 06:00:04 UTC

if you can explain that maybe you ahve got something

2018-02-17 06:00:10 UTC

if not then well...

2018-02-17 06:00:18 UTC

collective ownership of the means of production through worker's syndicates, culture that honestly found the concept of simply voting for more money asinine and cyclical. they believed in worker's control over their own resources in a way that is humanitarian.
it's amazing how well people can adapt when when they have a cause that they believe in

2018-02-17 06:01:00 UTC

lo, a cause

2018-02-17 06:01:14 UTC

you can't force everyone to believe in your causes

2018-02-17 06:01:26 UTC

look though

2018-02-17 06:01:38 UTC

so you are saying to workers just own the business

2018-02-17 06:01:47 UTC

you know you can jsut do that within capitalism

2018-02-17 06:01:50 UTC

that's right, i can't.
everyone who doesn't can just leave

2018-02-17 06:02:00 UTC

you can jsut start you own buiness and set it up like that, with profit sharing

2018-02-17 06:02:24 UTC

leave what? the country?

2018-02-17 06:03:02 UTC

yea, but i hear it's difficult to sustain. i'm not in a position where i can just start my own business anyway

2018-02-17 06:03:16 UTC

or leave the country for that matter
