I've honestly gotten back into being interested in politics
And I was a Trot/Luxembourgian before
So what does everyone do for a living?
if you guys don't mind sharing
How can we form an actual Syndicalist movement, it seems like all the jobs are shipped overseas and unions are neutered
@RobotWizard I'm a student
Avoid wage labour
I'm studying to be a computer programmer
@Deleted User what's your field
I also have a undergrad in history
/sociology student but i take to many drugs
full-time student part-time crier
@RobotWizard I'm still in high school however I'd like to go into something scientific or go into history or both
Pretty much just weed and alcohol for me
history is a great field
just don't expect to get a job related to it
unless you want to teach
@RobotWizard I'm kinda ok with teaching people
i dont expect to get a job or even go to uni with that in mind
@Nicholas91 I've been saying this
education is important
going to university for the sake of learning is a dying venture < / 3
Yeah I know right
University should be free
still if I don't get into grad school I'll cry lmao
on the same principle that libraries are public
I just want to be good at reading and writting on things that interest me
people should be encouraged to better themselves
I've given up on the idea of a career
it's weird because if we look deeper into history the institution was a bastion of privileged and people went TO learn
@RobotWizard in my state, state college is free but you have to work for the state for 5 years
luckily in my country and with my privilige i can do this
in modern times it's become a means to an end to get a job : /
yeah a means to an identity
@Deleted User seriously, wow that sucks
its
I live in canada so we have tuition for university
@Deleted User Well we can try to organize and form unions for service-based jobs. It's a far cry from leftist expectations, but that is simply the current reality. The remaining industrial jobs, whenever possible, need to be integrated into the movement
not looking forward to my student debt
