When the Communards established the Paris Commune and the ruling classes and government heads were in exile, they bent over backwards and bargained with the Prussians, who they were at war with, just to get Paris back. Why should the proletariat limit itself in such a way when the ruling classes of allegedly opposing cultures/governments will collaborate to crush worker's power?
