but she was basically in an an abusive right wing religious group
the latter is CBT and pathology and all that
had a psychotic break and got the fuck out of it
She's also bipolar

Yeah people often have traumatic events happen to them
or long held beliefs from child hood
I'm an atheist but her family is catholic and she hasn't stepped inside a church and i don't discuss religion with her that much
other than to really support her when she's discussing her experiences
I dont believe in pathologising mental illness. you deal with individuals
nobody is the same
and no treatment for mental illness is the exact same

Yeah I think the left needs to take it on
and politicise it
but that's not getitng to the roots
like many other issues of the day its a half hearted response
We have to do away with the idea that it can ever be a hard science
We don't need to get anyone to admit to being mentally ill
but honest genuine compassion on the issue might reach some
