Did you know that the Hungarian Revolution was successful in 1956? Just as in 1848-49. Then the Russians came and attacked us. In both cases. Moreover, in 1956, the Russians had free way to attack us, because of some international agreements.
The freedom fighters were hoping to get help from the West until the last minute. They did not know that the West sold us to the Russians. (If you doubt this is true, check it out.)

The Red Army attacked Hungarian freedom fighters with about 60,000 soldiers. Men, women and children fought on the street against the Russians.
It was a disgraceful victory for the Russians, and it was expensive. Look at the numbers.

The Hungarian losses (formally):
2652 dead
19 226 wounded
(And after the revolution at least 235 persons were executed)

The Soviet Army's losses:
1338 dead
1540 wounded
51 missing (!)
(Total number originally 58 821)
Of the fighting devices 40 tanks, 30-35 armored transport vehicles, at least 24 cannon, 10 anti-aircraft gun were lost.

Do you understand this exactly? The civil Hungarians caused these losses for the Red Army!
