the only reason for gun control is disarming the public in order to make them easier to oppress.
this idea is only attractive to totalitarians so they can crush dissent

2018-03-26 20:28:37 UTC

Gun control or gun removal?

The second amendment means that all anti-gun protestors have nothing more than an unlawful opinion.

2018-03-26 20:48:28 UTC

@fannybandit . No constitutional right is absolute. A textual right like the Second Amendment, interpreted as it has been since Heller (2010) to be an individual right, can be limited for a compelling governmental reason and if the regulation is narrowly tailored to promote that interest. If the courts found that a weapons ban that limited firearms possession to the police and military was narrowly tailored to a compelling governmental interest, they could pry your guns, grenades, etc out of your cold dead fingers if you resisted giving them up voluntarily.

2018-03-26 20:49:13 UTC

That would be true if we lived in a police-state in which government, not the people, was the supreme state.

2018-03-26 20:49:27 UTC

We live in a constitutional republic. All rights are protected by law.

2018-03-26 20:49:38 UTC

There is no discussion or debate...that is the law.

2018-03-26 20:49:48 UTC

The 2nd amendment is archaic

2018-03-26 20:49:52 UTC

and needs to be repealed

2018-03-26 20:50:01 UTC

@Suleiman Agreed

2018-03-26 20:50:06 UTC

That's your opinion.

2018-03-26 20:50:18 UTC

If you don't like American law, stay out of America.

2018-03-26 20:50:25 UTC

opinion of anyone that isnt half of America

2018-03-26 20:50:40 UTC

I didn't see half of America protest.

2018-03-26 20:50:44 UTC

Half of the US doesn't like US law, should they leave?

2018-03-26 20:50:56 UTC

It's not half of the US.

2018-03-26 20:51:00 UTC

You're right

2018-03-26 20:51:04 UTC

its a good 90%

2018-03-26 20:51:14 UTC

If you don't support the constitution of a constitutional republic, you do not belong here.

2018-03-26 20:51:15 UTC

@fannybandit It’s subject to limitation like any other fundamental right, textual or implied, just like the first amendment.

2018-03-26 20:51:30 UTC

So me where it says that 90% of the American public wants to abolish firearms...

2018-03-26 20:51:32 UTC

Fanny, I probably know more about your own constitution than you do

2018-03-26 20:51:33 UTC

so

2018-03-26 20:51:37 UTC

don't talk down to me

2018-03-26 20:51:45 UTC

and anyways i was referring to gun restrictions

2018-03-26 20:51:46 UTC

No right is ever subject to limitations.

2018-03-26 20:51:59 UTC

@fannybandit Yes it is

2018-03-26 20:52:06 UTC

That's your opinion.

2018-03-26 20:52:09 UTC

Freedom of speech doesnt apply to criminals or the right to vote so yes it is subject to limitations

2018-03-26 20:52:14 UTC

You have an opinion, I have the writ of law.
