Speaking of AKs
For some reason I had a thing for 5.45 at a time
But seeing the 7N6 ban and seeing that 7.62x39 has more of a "punch"
I did too when it was cheap
I'm leaning more towards 7.62
I still have a lot of 7N6 for the tantal
I’d deff go 7.62 now
ye
When 5.45 was basically free it was awesome
It’s still a great round IMO but ammo availability and price just isn’t there anymore 🤷♂️
Ballisitcally how does 5.45 compare to 5.56 anyway? 🤔
Fairly similar
With green tip 5.56 being readily available and 7N6 not
It wouldn’t make sense to buy a 74 for anything other then a range toy
Steel cased 308 is almost as cheap as 5.45 now
Yeah since we don't live in eastern europe or russia
It makes more sense go with a caliber that's pretty much standard in our homeland
7.62x39 is ridiculously common as is 5.56 and 308
And I’ve never had an issue running steel case in an AK where I have with an AR
Can get 1000 rounds of x39 for around 150
Yeah more common than 5.45 at this point
I wonder if I should get a 7.62x39 AK or get a CZ bren 2 lol
Since it can also be chambered for that
Well ideally I'd like to have both anyway
When money's not an issue
AK will always be my answer lol
Think about parts availability
Stupid simple, parts are dirt cheap
inb4 someone says "but AKs are inaccurate commie pieces of shit" lol
but AKs are inaccurate commie pieces of shit
lol
For shits n gigs I had a WASR and put 6000 rounds through it without major cleaning
Just swabbing the barrel
All dirty as fuck steel case Tula
Only if they have shot out barrels because they have been used constantly since the initial Soviet invasion of Afghanistan
Yeah there seems to be a common myth that AKs are inaccurate compared to an AR
My Arsenal AK is accurate as hell, as is my WASR
But I think part of it is due to people not knowing how to use AK irons lol
WASRs had canted sight issues and that didn’t help
And the irons are admittedly not the greatest
