It’s a thing I cringe over from snowboarding. Use a light balaclava and a neck warmer or scarf. But when u shove a beanie under a helmet the risk of concussion rises tremendously because the helmet has room to build speed before hitting your head and it loses a lot of its performance

And from what I’ve read in combat it allows the shockwave of an explosion to travel between the helmet and skull possibly causing serious damage
