They all claimed to be socialist states, which were progressing towards communism.
But they couldn't be Communist states.
Because they weren't that advance yet.
Well why coulden't they just up and at em abolish the state and everything that comes with it?
Well there is some problems with that.
You can't get rid of the government so fast.
Well what makes you think you can get rid of government at all?
Because the government is corrupt, I believe that you can share the wealth with other people.
Well if the government is corrupt then why use government at all to futher your goals?
You need to actually do it in case any other country is willing to attack me in the state it is in.

That's what people misunderstand about communism.
And why is that?
That is why they need socialism as well.
The end goal is to get rid of class.
Class and heirarchy will always be present no matter what.
For as of right now they will be.

We are not advance yet to get rid of class.
That is why Socialist countries that are leaning towards communism
The thing is that class and hierarchy are natural in any human group, be it a neolithic tribal, or a massive country that we see today.
Can't be communist yet.
There is no socialism left in the world.
Because we need more advance machines and such.
Machines will get your cause nowhere, it will just leave you guys weaker and less productive.
Well the machines need humans but it would do a better job at production means.
Read what I said above, they are of no benefit to you.
Also I believe it would take less time,
And would go much faster.
As I said above, when all they do is make you guys weak, unproductive, and uncaring for your movement, it will absolutely destroy any potential it once had.
People will not just say one day "Oh boy there's these machines everywhere, let's go communist".
If anything it will just strengthen the already impossible to break death grip that capitalism has on communism.
