Oh I stopped playing 4 years ago
oldschool runescape and the original wow
@When Things Aren't Right Go Left I'm not sure that quote by Enver Hoxha is mean to be in favor of Marxism, certainly from outside it doesn't sound so great. I'm not really one for indoctrination.
Just for the nostalgia
@James~ He was a communist
Socioeconomics is a lot like theology; those who understand it either despise it, or try to manipulate it.
"Conservatives are crude and obvious shills and apologists for exploitation. They are the enemies of working people, and champions of employers. Period!"
Correct
There are only two types of people who have read the bible: preachers and atheists.
@InfraRed LXIX Lmao
Who's that from?
It's true though lol
That's why it's funny
It's a simplified Hitch-slap lol
K
Hitchens was talking to some priest (Fuck if I know his name), and he asked the man if he had read the bible.
I miss that man
'What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence"
This is all it takes to debunk any religious argument
The same thinking is true in socioeconomics. Those who understand it, either loathe it or use their understanding of it to exploit others. The most intelligent bourgeois surely has to be aware of what he is doing, and yet continues to do so to sate his own desires.
No
I'm still waiting on Jordan Peterson to stop being a coward and sit down with Zizek.
@InfraRed LXIX I always suspect the reason anticommunists speak in such broad terms is because they don't understand economics at all
10/10
99% of the arguments make vague gestures to social, geographic and economic constraints that are ignored without ever outlining what they are or how communist economics fails to address them & the impact that failure has on the theory.
10/10 attributed to McCarthyism
^
The fall back argument is always "Well the Soviet Union fell so..."
I've never really understood the hyper-paranoia and hatred of socialist ideas in today's world.
To me the primary responsibility of a nation is to take care of it's citizens. Ensuring everyone has adequate medical care seems a primary role in that regard.
I just don't get it.
And things like that
It's way more prominent in the US
It's literally blind fear
this stigma of communism has to die
A lack of understanding, combined with irrational arrogance attributed to McCarthyism.
Other than the human psyche displaying irrational fear of something that isn't understood, I'd place money on them simply fearing that one day we will seize their toothbrushes and distribute them equally amongst the people.
Means of production? Nah, we have to seize the means of hygiene.
"Nobody's gonna expose my kids to new ideas damnit. Who do these teachers think they are"
-The idiot who posted this
An anti-communist will always come to the conclusion that democracy and capitalism are synonymous.
You'd have to be pretty naive to not recognize the influence money and power has on legislators, has on advertising, has on those envious of them.
