To be honest I think Vietnam is fine the way it is now.
That would mean a "Socialist Market Economy". I doubt they will adopt the Chinese model, but it's definitely a possibility. Their economy actually isn't in as bad a shape as some would like to believe. In fact, Forbes published an article a little over a year ago I believe that talked about how the NK economy was booming, sanctions and all.
