Animals are just animals.
And we are animals as well.
You know quite well what I mean.
Is this person a slave? You see, you're weaseling now
No I don't.
I said it before and I’ll say it again:
We're animals with a society and a very social language
You gave a definition of a slave, I gave you a counterexample, and now you're weaseling. Most slaves, bullshit
@BabygottBach No its a prisoner.
You gave a definition of all slaves, it needs but one counterexample to render it false
Slavery applies to things that have sapience/sentience. A tree isn’t a slave because it gets chopped down. An animal isn’t a slave because it’s made into food. It’s resources and livestock.
You can't force a prisoner to do anything.
You can only restrict their movement
Exactly
But that's not the case here
and putting someone in a cage is doing that
The master can do anything he wants to the person
slaves were never put in cages.
?
then why did you say so?
How do you think they transported slaves?
Slaves were put in cages.
Merely being in a cage doesn't make you not a slave
"slaves were never put in cages."
"Slaves were put in cages."
I never said they were
that period should have been question mark
Were slaves put in cages?
Yes
So being caged has no bearing on slavehood
if you're under the control of someone and your only option is to work for them or die, that is slavery
its as simple as that
It doesnt no, nor did I say it does
@BabygottBach You are applying the same moral complexity of locking up a person for manual labor and treating them like an animal to locking up an animal and treating it like an animal. (By animal I mean something non-sentient/sapient, like a Buffalo.)
No i"m not
You are,
Sure seems like it, considering the comparison you made.
we're haing two separate discussions here
Animals are sentient
Your Counterargument is faulty.
I'm way past animals now
