So I heard a story from my grandmothers cousin (I guess she is a grandma for me too). They had a grandmother (great-great-great grandmother for me) back in 1943. She was 105 at that time and became completely blind when she was around 90.
When there were fights over their village between russians and germans she refused to leave her house and stayed there cause she didnt believe that there was a war.
Her sons wife was taking care of her at that time but had to move with the rest ofthe family to neighbour village
Russians made a camp in the village she lived in, so germans bombed and shelled it from time to time for around 2 weeks
Sons wife would come once in two days to feed her (which was like 20 km walk one way)
She recalled that granny complained about mice being to loud on the roof, which she mistook bombings for.
She lived through those 2 weeks, even had a bomb land nearby, but it didnt detonate. She died the same year out of old age, neither war nor holodomor killed her
But yeah, she sat on a bench near the house while being bombed
Chaps has the patience of a saint
I'll tell stories from my deployment to Mexico aiding the Mexican Federales and Mexican National Guard/Marines in their Drug War a few years back tmr
Suffice to say it was a fucked up time
But I got a combat patch so
Nice, I'm sure we all look forward to it
one of my privates almost killed a federales by near beating him to death with a 249
for good reason
Well damn
Cib?
Some old lady and her grandkid were trying to get back into their house on a street we had cordoned off
and we were trying to explain to her there was a drug raid going on next door to her
and to sit tight for a bit
and one of the federales attached to us started yelling and pointing his gun at her and her very young looking grandkid
and then started beating her with his rifle stock
and pistol whipped the kid
that private had gotten fed up of all the shit
and went up and beat the living fuck out of that fucker
We had to stop him from killing the guy
but we all sort of wanted him to kill the guy
Private then went into a deep depression and became an alcoholic after all of that
and tried suiciding a few times
until he got medically chaptered out
some people get broken from seeing this stuff happen in front of them
anyone that hears stories of what happened during the worst of Iraq will tell you similar things
Those federales were run by honest to god war criminals
We also had very loose ROE there as well as to be determined on a platoon by platoon level
so our LT could basically tell us to kill someone and we'd be ok to do it but we all held back
They'd accuse random people of being cartel members with like zero proof
and then go kill or detain and rob them
I didn't really understand what a lot of guys that came back from Afg meant when they said they felt like committing murder
But after Juarez I get it
What they felt when they learnt about the ANA raping little kids
and knowing they couldn't do anything about it
@wendiko no CIB since we weren't officially in combat operations
but we got a patch since it was a danger zone
Well fuck, I knew shit was bad down there, but no one seems to talk aboutnit like that
If there's one thing I learnt from my experiences there it's that a boog in the US is a very undesirable outcome
Because that style of ultraviolence will be here too
and tons and tons of people will die and get hurt that do not in any way deserve it
and I frankly don't want any of my family and friends to have to suffer through similar situations
@thedarkness05 those retards would launch missiles and rockets in the middle of populated cities
the Federales and their National Guard
like imagine any American city like NYC or DC or LA right?
Imagine some Apache coming in launching hellfires at buildings
that's what that was like
fucking insane
I know everyone memes about the boog(except for the tard doomers who actually have nothing to live for) but I'm telling yall that you reaaaaaly don't want that in the US
