Well man, it happens sometimes family isn't as close once an elder passes, it's the same for my moms side, we used to all meet up and my papaws house but now we dont for holidays, just hang out with fathers side now

I'm sure your family still love each other it's just hard to get together once elders pass because theirs no one to plan around, I'm sure if you took charge and helped plan a holiday event for your family they would be happy with it

That was well said. @Sir Harndes I'd agree with squid. Look at this as an opportunity to take charge, not in a dictating way, but in a family oriented get together.

Easter is only so far out. You can even state your reasoning why you want to do the gathering as like a homage to your passed relative. Even if only a few show up, I'd count it as a good experience

I was there, somehow came out with a complicated set of thoughts on how emotions should be. Which actually makes me stronger to a point.

My answer is we are here to make the world a better place for our offspring and tribe. Watching the world fall apart the last decade and probably a childhood of westerns have me consider I can be one of two people
