Here's the part they don't tell you though, Crow. When you pool resources, you give the bureaucracy a mandate to enact rules of conduct geared towards saving pooled resources, which is highly intrusive and eroding of liberty.

Most people turn to govt cuz they don't wanna be personally responsible for their own behaviors. They want someone else to take responsibility for paying the consequences, and then get mad when that authority treats them like children, restricting their rights.
