I do think however there are many myths and misunderstandings surrounding the issue of Galileo and it’s clear that the Catholic Church was historically pro-scientific institution. The case has since been used by people opposed to the RCC as some lazy point of argument, rather than targeting more legitimate causes for criticism (of which there are many)
