@everyone Daily Question 🔖
- What is your opinion on Democracy? Is it a mere experiment and will not last much longer, is it already collapsing, is it the bedrock of our society, etc?
The bedrock of our society and something to hold dear.
Democracy is good, pre-civil war democracy though.
Modern democracy is corrupt
^^^
Mob Rule, simple as
Democracy is an experiment, and is already in the 2nd stage of collapse
Modern democracy isn’t democracy. It’s a Democratic-Republic.
@Attika "democracy" refers to any system where people can vote on any matters of government in this context
From 1945 until 2000, the number of democracies was increasing - it stopped increasing in 2000
and is now decreasing
Democracy is a failed expirement
The rights of man should not be infringed upon, the ideas and beliefs of the individual should be upheld above all as so a future of freedom may manifest, democracy in itself allow the best route for such a way of life as it allows each person a right of voting.
in its current state it wont hold out, there is way to much bureaucracy. all it takes is one major power to go AWOL and they will not be able to coordinate. even still, there is growing contempt for democracy in many nations, and unless a mare efficient form of it is applied then it will collapse
Citizens typically do not have the cognitive or emotional capacities required to maintain a democracy
^
@Maksim then by you’re definition a republic is also a democracy? You wish to take you’re own rights away? What exactly would you prefer? Communism? How about educating people.
Democracy is an exercise in the might of superior numbers. Might makes right.
direct democracy not indirect democracy and again I would say old fashioned classical democracy functions best due to a lack of greater beaurocracy that is upheld today
Any form where a general populus votes in any manner
No
A republic and democracy are different
I just looked it up
So a God-King?
