in its current state it wont hold out, there is way to much bureaucracy. all it takes is one major power to go AWOL and they will not be able to coordinate. even still, there is growing contempt for democracy in many nations, and unless a mare efficient form of it is applied then it will collapse
Citizens typically do not have the cognitive or emotional capacities required to maintain a democracy
