there were 12 democratic countries
i.e where people had the right to vote
And look how well they did
By the end of the 20th century
there were 86
That stopped increasing in 2000
Ever since 2000, it has been decreasing
In fact they were so successful that now their success is killing themselves.
And it has been proven that an autocratic government is more effective at nation-building than democracy
Look at south-east asia
Hong Kong
China?
Singapore
I’d rather die than live in a socialist state.
Hyper-Capitalist (that's not the point), but very Autocratic
Very authoritarian
Attika where do you live?
I hate authoritarian governments. Government needs to stay the fuck out of my life. Run the politics but stay out of my life and how I live.
US. Central US
Socialist policies, some of them. Can be okay.
@Attika You as an individual may think that, but thinking in terms of the general population - it is a proven fact people prefer *security and order* over *freedom*
I said Socialist state
Most US residents conflate those two
Anyone who would trade their Freedom for security deserve neither and will lose both.
My mistake
I treat it as such
It cannot be proven
It can be disproven even
Hong Kong and Singapore are great examples
Where less freedom has led to higher living standards
The moment the government tells me how many kids I can have, what beliefs to have, or how I make my money, they have gone too far.
I don’t care.
I disagree on that
The government *should* direct these aspects of everyday life for the average citizen, keep in mind i say average
I’d rather be dirt poor and freedom of speech than have a cozy life and no rights.
No.
The average person is not very intelligent
No.
