Only those that are lost need signs

2019-11-02 18:25:47 UTC

I'm into traditional western astrology, but I'm interested in getting some tips of the vedic one @Departure

2019-11-02 18:26:11 UTC

The aspects usually stays the same at least

2019-11-02 18:26:25 UTC

Also use whole signs for tropical astrology

2019-11-02 18:31:42 UTC

I already do use whole signs for it

2019-11-02 18:31:52 UTC

it's how Astrology as a system was developed

2019-11-02 18:32:03 UTC

whole signs is the only valid house system mathematically

2019-11-02 18:32:24 UTC

@exoMoon Western zodiac is 24 Degrees off from where the stars actually are

2019-11-02 18:33:58 UTC

Care to have a look on mine? You don't need to read just tell me the names of what I have to google. I get confused with the different names

2019-11-13 18:31:30 UTC

Signs =/= Constellations

2019-11-13 18:31:45 UTC

Signs are portions of the sky divided, *named after the constellations*

2019-11-13 18:32:25 UTC

Western Astrology was not developed to be a sidereal system, and that is precisely why the signs were devised; people were aware that the fixed stars were not entirely fixed.

2019-11-13 18:37:40 UTC

And tbqh I feel more inclined to utilize a system of astrology developed and maintained in use by people who became the most proficient astrologers, and thus astronomers, known to the rest of the world.

2019-11-13 18:41:26 UTC

*In Western astrology, astrological signs are the twelve 30° sectors of the ecliptic, starting at the vernal equinox (one of the intersections of the ecliptic with the celestial equator), also known as the First Point of Aries. The order of the astrological signs is Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. Each sector is named for a constellation it passes through.*

2019-11-13 18:45:19 UTC

Can I ask how the houses differ/relate in this context?

2019-11-13 18:48:00 UTC

Afaik, there are two different methods for deriving Houses within Western astrology, which are the most prominent: Whole Sign and Placidus.

2019-11-13 18:48:46 UTC

Virtually everyone has a House system, including the Indians and the Chinese.

2019-11-13 18:49:11 UTC

And tbqh every system of astrology generally has the same *outline*, they just have different orientations or controls.

2019-11-13 18:49:20 UTC

Which is interesting.

2019-11-13 18:50:24 UTC

Hmmm thanks

2019-11-18 16:41:32 UTC

Hello anyone focused on sidereal astrology here?

2019-11-29 00:31:54 UTC

Sidereal is a meme

2019-11-29 00:55:48 UTC

Sidereal is a meme. Unless you're using an Eastern system, its effects havent necessarily been calculated for here on the West.

2019-11-29 00:57:56 UTC

Literally the only thing actually from the Vedas in terms of Vedic astrology is shit about the moon

2019-11-29 00:58:04 UTC

Which is kinda valid

2019-11-29 00:58:21 UTC

But they had no system for the planets or even zodiac signs

2019-11-29 00:58:41 UTC

That's all after the fact borrowed from the west

2019-11-29 00:58:54 UTC

An adjusted to be wrong lmao
