they're sturdy but they're made for sharp and high contrast letters

Tbh I'd rather draw with mechanical pencils than school pencils

something like a B or 2/3B with minimal pressure would do wonders for shading

In most cases I had just been using a regular pencil to outline what I was going to finish shading on the computer. But, I've had limited time the past few days, and have just been shading my stuff on paper.

I end up using paper to outline what I'm going to draw, because wacom accuracy is a pain. Then I scan it in and shade/colour it.

Maybe it's just me but I would recommend you focus a little more on pencil art first so you get the hand of it and then move to digital
