You can def shade without smudging if you're using good pencils

2017-08-24 06:44:32 UTC

All I can really afford to use is writing pencils I found laying about.

2017-08-24 06:45:15 UTC

It's okay. But try to get good sketching pencils when you can

2017-08-24 06:45:21 UTC

Generally end up using the wacom when I have a large allotment of time to do shading and such.

2017-08-24 06:45:26 UTC

I can guarantee you it makes things much better

2017-08-24 06:46:03 UTC

```All I can really afford to use is writing pencils I found laying about.```
Thas a really lazy excuse
2017-08-24 06:46:18 UTC
go buy a set of engineering pencils from T4 to M4
2017-08-24 06:46:37 UTC
I have 8 dollars to my name right now :/
2017-08-24 06:47:02 UTC
Are you alive?
2017-08-24 06:47:16 UTC
Get job or ask parents
2017-08-24 06:47:25 UTC
I have a job, then bills 😄
2017-08-24 06:47:26 UTC
a pencil set costs what? 2 bucks?
2017-08-24 06:47:37 UTC
It depends tbh
2017-08-24 06:47:50 UTC
There are definitely cheap pencil sets out there
2017-08-24 06:48:11 UTC
Mine costed like $10 however but they're amazing <:ohGosh:300898497161592832>
2017-08-24 06:48:15 UTC
Man I used to buy engineering sets of 10 pencils of different hardness for 1-1.5 usd
2017-08-24 06:48:41 UTC
Engineers write weird
2017-08-24 06:48:48 UTC
you could have gotten exactly the same a few times cheaper
2017-08-24 06:48:49 UTC
Well there is a difference in engineering pencils and sketching pencils
2017-08-24 06:49:04 UTC
The letters are wider instead of longer
2017-08-24 06:49:08 UTC
Idk why
2017-08-24 06:49:55 UTC
wood and graphite
2017-08-24 06:50:05 UTC
the only difference is marketing
I suppose if I can track down what stores in Canada sell engineering pencils I'll see about obtaining some.
2017-08-24 06:50:51 UTC
4b is such a babe
2017-08-24 06:50:58 UTC
I mean you probably have something like a 2H?
2017-08-24 06:51:01 UTC
Nd 2b hehehehe
2017-08-24 06:51:20 UTC
I think it is 2h the normal school pencils
2017-08-24 06:51:50 UTC
they're sturdy but they're made for sharp and high contrast letters
2017-08-24 06:52:01 UTC
Tbh I'd rather draw with mechanical pencils than school pencils
2017-08-24 06:52:09 UTC
something like a B or 2/3B with minimal pressure would do wonders for shading
2017-08-24 06:52:10 UTC
^^
2017-08-24 06:52:38 UTC
you can also get different graphite grades for mechanical pensilc, but shading will be a bitch
2017-08-24 06:52:44 UTC
t. engineer
2017-08-24 06:53:51 UTC
In most cases I had just been using a regular pencil to outline what I was going to finish shading on the computer. But, I've had limited time the past few days, and have just been shading my stuff on paper.
2017-08-24 06:54:05 UTC
just buy a fucking screen tablet and use photosop or sai
2017-08-24 06:54:23 UTC
I have a wacom 😛
2017-08-24 06:54:23 UTC
Lmao
2017-08-24 06:54:36 UTC
roll it up and shove it up your dog
