Well let me explain here
I'll die before a state under my watch approves of prostitution
You don't get it
(not that I'll ever have one)
Sometimes to have less prostitution, you have to have a small amount that's legal and controlled
that way you can steal the market from the underground people
I reject this notion
Well I'll explain it
you can always arrest the underground people
incentives work
If you ban it completely, it'll happen under your nose and you won't be able to control it. You don't get to control where it is or who gets to it.
this idea hearkens back to libertarians claiming that banning drugs increases drug use which is demonstrably false
If you permit some out of the way establishments to operate, with licenses and regulation, people can do their things out of the way and not expose kids to it.
when you ban something and arrest people for using it, people dont do it as much funny that
And you'll actually have less
Some things are worth banning, and other things aren't worth it.
When we banned liquor that didn't work
banning prostitution didn't work
I want less prostitution
porn was banned in the US for a long time. Tell me do you really think we have less of it now that its legal?
So if you can get less prostitution, and control the remainder why not do that?
meanwhile apparently Denver is now the capital of stoners
why not legalize murder and theft?
Instead of banning it for a point
Because prostitution is different from murder and theft
It's sex for cash. It's victimless crime. It's not healthy for society, but if you can control it and limit it to out of the way establishments, all the better
look incentives work. If you want less prostitution punish those involved in it
a pro prostitution traditionalist, I've seen it all
have confidence in what you believe, if you believe prostitution is bad for society, do what must be done for the good of society
You're being facetious.
@Deleted User hes saying that banning prostitution will be not as effective as limiting prostitution to a few brothels
I'm not pro prostitution
legally you are
I'm saying it's ineffective to ban it outright unless you want to execute anyone who engages in it
are there stats for prostitution?
you're saying you wish people didnt do it, but we shouldn't punish them for doing it. It's libertarian thinking
which wouldn't be justifiable
No it's not lol
I'm saying I want less people doing it, and you actually might get more if you ban it outright
hes saying ban prostitution outside of brothels
