To be a man means many things. It varies across the world of course, but generally a man is strong, brave, a provider, a worker, a fighter, a leader and pillar of society. It doesn't mean you HAVE to live up to all of these, but these are what's generally expected of you. I simply choose not to accept any of that because it doesn't make me happy to be any of those things. Further, I do not feel responsible to society wanting me to fill my predetermined role. Being more feminine fulfills me way more than "manning up", and it doesn't mean I can't be any of the things men are.
I still consider myself strong and brave, I fight before flight, I can lead if I need too, and I can be a pillar if I want. I just don't want to, and people telling me I'm wrong for it isn't really gonna change my mind. I don't think gender norms aren't real, I just don't think they HAVE TO apply to people. I'm one of those people who it doesn't apply to, if people don't like it, fuck them. It's why I wanted to fuck with Willy. People like him interest me because I genuinely want to understand the hate, because I've done nothing personally to him and I operate on an individual and not group basis.
