All aboard

2017-05-02 21:24:10 UTC

Does anyone have a good free antivirus I can use that isn't Bitdefender or Norton? The one I had recently expired so yea

2017-05-02 21:24:23 UTC

Ya

2017-05-02 21:24:55 UTC

BitDefender was slowing my Internet down, once I uninstalled it my Internet was fine

2017-05-02 21:26:59 UTC

Malwarebytes or Avast Antivirus

2017-05-02 21:28:04 UTC

I dont think MB is an antivirus tho

2017-05-02 21:28:22 UTC

Yeah it is. Regarded as the best one out there.

2017-05-02 21:28:48 UTC

I just thought that It was for removing maleware and rootkits and such like that

2017-05-02 21:29:09 UTC

No it's for viruses too.

2017-05-02 21:29:12 UTC

ah

2017-05-02 21:29:14 UTC

i have chandelier stuck in my head

2017-05-02 21:29:18 UTC

And Avast is better with rootkits.

2017-05-02 21:29:36 UTC

It has a boottime scan that can get at them when the OS isn't running. Malware Bytes doesn't have that

2017-05-02 21:29:38 UTC

123123 drink

2017-05-02 21:29:43 UTC

Bitdefender really did slow my Internet to a crawl jesus

2017-05-02 21:30:05 UTC

My Internet is performing much better when I uninstalled BD and stuff is downloading much faster now too

2017-05-02 21:30:56 UTC

Malwarebytes won't do that.

2017-05-02 21:31:01 UTC

ik

2017-05-02 21:31:18 UTC

I've used MB before just that I didn't know It was an antivirus

2017-05-02 21:31:53 UTC

Actual viruses in the strict term are extremely rare now. Malware is the big thing now that all the people who make malcious code focus on.

2017-05-02 21:32:00 UTC

But it handles viruses too.

2017-05-02 21:32:03 UTC

Yea

2017-05-02 21:32:37 UTC

I think I'l try avast for now, my original av was Trend Micro Internet security and I actually liked it to, I loved the Interface

2017-05-02 21:33:03 UTC

The interface of TMIS was the main reason I liked it and it wasn't intrusive

2017-05-02 21:33:05 UTC

Either one will be way, way better than BitDefender or anything from Norton

2017-05-02 21:33:17 UTC

Norton is the worse lmao

2017-05-02 21:33:52 UTC

Apparently mb has detected 9 threats

2017-05-02 21:34:02 UTC

Im using the threat scanner of mb

2017-05-02 21:34:55 UTC

MalwareBytes does a better job at removing things that can be detected while the system is running than any other program.

2017-05-02 21:35:21 UTC

Avast is the next best and its big advantage is the boot scan option, which can get stuff that cannot be detected at all while Windows is running.
