whats wrong with suburbs?

2018-01-29 00:39:56 UTC

Eh they are alright but they need a way looser code

2018-01-29 00:39:57 UTC

its only natural to have a central hub and a branching network out

2018-01-29 00:40:12 UTC

Like a lot of suburbs are monoliths that create car dependent customers

2018-01-29 00:40:20 UTC

oh

2018-01-29 00:40:22 UTC

eh

2018-01-29 00:40:40 UTC

I think a suburb should be built as a small town in and of itself, with several diverse buildings and stores and all

2018-01-29 00:40:45 UTC

so you just dont like the idea of seperate comercial and residential districts

2018-01-29 00:40:49 UTC

No

2018-01-29 00:41:00 UTC

i get what your saying

2018-01-29 00:41:06 UTC

My ideal city is one you can walk to get all your necessities in

2018-01-29 00:41:12 UTC

Hell yeah theory

2018-01-29 00:41:19 UTC

most of teh cities have that

2018-01-29 00:41:23 UTC

<@&232315154061066240>

2018-01-29 00:41:34 UTC

Did your dad put sour raisins in your buns, kid?

2018-01-29 00:41:37 UTC

o7

2018-01-29 00:41:41 UTC

2018-01-29 00:41:54 UTC

Now that that has been deleted i look needlessly hostile

2018-01-29 00:42:01 UTC

lol

2018-01-29 00:42:14 UTC

Yeah anyways i can understand it but i am not a big fan of urban sprawl and strict code

2018-01-29 00:42:25 UTC

what you mean strict code?

2018-01-29 00:42:50 UTC

Personally i live in a one family suburb house that is split on 3 families which is appearently fully legal here

2018-01-29 00:42:56 UTC

Oh ok so get this

2018-01-29 00:43:04 UTC

one family suburb?

2018-01-29 00:43:09 UTC

O hi. O.O

2018-01-29 00:43:16 UTC

what is your idea of suburb?

2018-01-29 00:43:20 UTC

Oh no like

2018-01-29 00:43:22 UTC

A single house

2018-01-29 00:43:47 UTC

my american version of a suburb is a big complex set as a large housing district

2018-01-29 00:43:57 UTC

there are neiborhoods and suburbs

2018-01-29 00:44:13 UTC

suburbs are more comercial

2018-01-29 00:44:32 UTC

Anyways a code is when a buncha people write a “plan” for the city, and they basically draw up regions that can be residential, commercial industrial, and it defines the type of buildings and facilities that can exist in a “zone”

2018-01-29 00:44:45 UTC

oh

2018-01-29 00:44:52 UTC

city games style

2018-01-29 00:44:59 UTC

Best answer is “its the blueprint that makes it so that condos aren’t built next to radioactive waste sites”

2018-01-29 00:45:14 UTC

Ah i view suburbs as like independent towns that merge into with the city

2018-01-29 00:45:24 UTC

oh ehhh kinda

2018-01-29 00:45:29 UTC

And neighborhoods as strips of land where houses are

2018-01-29 00:46:14 UTC

in alot of the big cities of us, you have a big central hub, maybe with a few apartments littered in, and then it slowly gets smaller as you go out, and eventually you get to housing distritcs outside of the city

2018-01-29 00:46:37 UTC

Yeah its similar to here except its a bit more all over the placce

2018-01-29 00:46:51 UTC

but either way having designated large comercial districts is more productive and beneficial then having nothing but corner stores
