And I’m saying 70% in response to your 1/100
stock market's mostly run by computers now, what do they care about reality TV?
It’s more like 70/100
you're saying the president singehandedly has control of 70% of stock market growth
No, I’m saying that out of everything that is responsible for it, his actions did most of the work. Think cause and effect
Him signing a bill causes a butterfly effect, ending in the stock market raising
And he’s responsible for 70% of all of these butterfly effects
Removing government regulation creates space for competition
Exactly
I've been trying to explain that
But he’s using tariffs and government control in order to control where we trade by encouraging trade on a national level, rather than an international level
You need intervention to even be able to maintain constant competition
Which helps the stocks
It’s not as much intervention as it is encouragement
For example back to the ISP problem
They aren't magically going to stop splitting territory
So? It honestly doesn’t matter. They aren’t holding a monopoly, as no single company is buying out others.
You'd need government intervention to stop the territory split so they can compete
So you’re saying that if the companies aren’t fighting eachother, the government should step in?
To keep competition? Yes
You shouldn’t force competition. If it doesn’t happen naturally, then so be it
Thats what created the problem to begin with
The reason it's not happening is because they deliberately avoid competition
Keep the markets free. The only time the government should step in is if we had a major economic crisis, such as the great depression
Overregulation is what kills competition
It's important to consider that there's literally no develped nation with 0 economic regulations
Every country have a set of rules for engagement
it's about determining who's benefiting from those rules
I see that debate I’ve created has not yet come to a halt...
Government regulation should be in favor of the consumer and protect certain rights of workers
Then why are you against net neutrality?
Most people support it
And government should have less of of a hand in the free market and small businesses
Because ultimately itll benefit the consumer
That’s why I’m against it
By slowing their internet access to certain sites
right
If they do that, they'll start losing customers to a better competitor who provides the same or better services for the lower or same price
Because I’d rather allow the FTC to have stronger powers against the ISP monopolies, rather than letting the FCC laze around
