you should always overcloak

2018-11-03 04:18:21 UTC

Especially in the colder months

2018-11-03 04:19:15 UTC

*only going forward cause we cant find reverse*

2018-11-03 04:19:19 UTC

i dont know how to overcloak and mostly why i dont want to try to do it is cause i dont know how

2018-11-03 04:19:44 UTC

@KC1994 the term is “overclock”

2018-11-03 04:19:46 UTC

plus i heard overcloaking requires more voltage i got a 500 watt power supply but i dont know if it can handle an overcloaked cpu

2018-11-03 04:19:51 UTC

Not “cloak”

2018-11-03 04:20:11 UTC

i dont know its my hand that are typing out the worlds

2018-11-03 04:20:13 UTC

words

2018-11-03 04:20:29 UTC

so how to i overclock my 8700k?

2018-11-03 04:21:18 UTC

No idea, there’s probably something on YouTube

2018-11-03 04:21:41 UTC

usually the bios

2018-11-03 04:22:31 UTC

im curious what are the benefits of overclocking

2018-11-03 04:23:29 UTC

Faster speeds, but like you said, it requires more power, and I believe the CPU runs hotter too

2018-11-03 04:23:46 UTC

I wouldn’t do it without liquid cooling

2018-11-03 04:24:12 UTC

im pretty sure my brick sided heatsink with fan attachment and non stock thermal paste can handle it infact

2018-11-03 04:24:46 UTC

in mostly idle my temps are a cool below 40 degrees

2018-11-03 04:24:55 UTC

im in google chrome watching a video

2018-11-03 04:25:28 UTC

less than 40 degrees currently

2018-11-03 04:25:46 UTC

if i could run slobs in placebo mode and a game without it stuttering that would be amazing

2018-11-03 04:26:04 UTC

>air cooling

Boris says “amateur”

this is what i want out of my cpu https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sg14jNbBb-8

2018-11-03 04:28:02 UTC

lol

2018-11-03 04:28:49 UTC

Well

2018-11-03 04:29:05 UTC

If you don’t want a full pc anytime soon

2018-11-03 04:29:18 UTC

And don’t mind living off rabbit food

2018-11-03 04:29:37 UTC

The i9 should get you there no problem

2018-11-03 04:33:17 UTC

oof

2018-11-03 04:41:16 UTC
2018-11-03 04:41:34 UTC

1050 sucks but honestly even 1060 3gb is perfectly good for most games

2018-11-03 04:42:08 UTC

You don't need any ti

2018-11-03 04:46:22 UTC

might as well go 1070 ti its the second highest graphics card but not super expensive like the 1080

2018-11-03 04:46:48 UTC

and ill be able to get a 1070 ti next month

2018-11-03 04:48:32 UTC

the core i5 compared to this i7 was only a like 100$ more but since ill be having this pc a long time i think it was worth it

2018-11-03 04:57:49 UTC

I may actually hold off on buying PC parts all together until after Christmas simply due to the GPU.

I want to buy the parts all at once to minimize taxes and shipping and such, so the idea is that if I buy everything after Saint Nick comes to town, not only will I have a shot at boxing day sales, but general prices may have gone down on GTX 10 series due to the advent of the RTX 20 series.

2018-11-03 04:58:58 UTC

well hopefully with my new 1070 ill be able to play doom 2016 maxed out
