im curious what are the benefits of overclocking

Faster speeds, but like you said, it requires more power, and I believe the CPU runs hotter too

I wouldn’t do it without liquid cooling

im pretty sure my brick sided heatsink with fan attachment and non stock thermal paste can handle it infact

in mostly idle my temps are a cool below 40 degrees

im in google chrome watching a video

less than 40 degrees currently

if i could run slobs in placebo mode and a game without it stuttering that would be amazing

1050 sucks but honestly even 1060 3gb is perfectly good for most games

You don't need any ti

might as well go 1070 ti its the second highest graphics card but not super expensive like the 1080

and ill be able to get a 1070 ti next month

the core i5 compared to this i7 was only a like 100$ more but since ill be having this pc a long time i think it was worth it

I may actually hold off on buying PC parts all together until after Christmas simply due to the GPU.

I want to buy the parts all at once to minimize taxes and shipping and such, so the idea is that if I buy everything after Saint Nick comes to town, not only will I have a shot at boxing day sales, but general prices may have gone down on GTX 10 series due to the advent of the RTX 20 series.

I'm having pc issues

I'm trying to overclock my CPU but it keeps blue screening

i increased my cloak speed to 4..9 ghz and its bluescreening when i try to benchmark it

that means it cant handle it

i see the guy in this video is having blue screen issues as well

looks like ill have to get water cooling if i want to overcloak higher than 4.8ghz

looks like with air 4.9ghz is the highest i can overcloak to

ok looks like 4.8 is i heard delidding is a good way of cooling a cpu even further so ill try that

so benchmarking at 4.8 shoots my cpu temps into the 70s they high as hell

looks like watercooling is in the near future

but i think it looks very cool

i like it when my cpu runs better
