It’s an animation course I’m doing

When my dad joined the german police in the early 70s, they still had mandatory horseriding training for crowd-control. Anyway, a few years ago we found his high-shaft leather riding boots from that time in the attic - surprisingly in quite good condition. He wanted to throw them away, but i suggested putting them up on ebay. Thinking they would rake in maybe 20€, they actually made around 200€... We later recieved received a thank-you letter from a Swiss BDSM-Gay-Club. Apparently they were searching for that exact model for a long time.

2019-06-25 20:13:05 UTC

Nah, mental health in this country is a joke.

2019-06-25 20:14:20 UTC

? how exactly

2019-06-25 20:14:37 UTC

Everyone will move on, forget that this happened and will continue to just let it happen and never do anything about it, its how its always been.

2019-06-25 20:15:31 UTC

Its horrible

2019-06-25 20:15:38 UTC

but we cant do much about it

2019-06-25 20:15:57 UTC

Mental health is still a taboo subject, most parents with suicidal children or teens will throw them in a mental hospital and cut them off from the world, in THEORY it's suppose to be a time of healing, but it isnt because your are disconnected from the people that care about you.

2019-06-25 20:15:58 UTC

we can only manipulate people

2019-06-25 20:18:14 UTC

Most parents I've known will deny anything is wrong until the kid is dead then they'll blame themselves when it's too late

2019-06-25 20:19:02 UTC

I've known plenty of people who have begged and cried out for help only to be told "you're fine, you're just being defective", then, after years of... nothing, they get hopeless and desperate and bad things happen

2019-06-25 20:19:35 UTC

instead of worrying about dumb things like gun control or other silly shit, we need to be promoting good mental habits, like talking to family or friends or lovers whenever we feel alone, isolated from the world, we are social creatures and by showing you in a ward with no one to talk too other then people you dont even know or care about makes that worse and so does shoving pills down your throat hoping that your brain will just fix itself, thats the current state of things, how do you think school shooters, or murders are made? they are isolated, alone and disconnected from everyone, we should be helping these people before they even GET to that point.

2019-06-25 20:22:30 UTC

You ever heard of the rat city experiment?

2019-06-25 20:24:00 UTC

I think it's called that, where rats had the choice to either take what I think was an opiate with their water, or they could take normal water, and the scientists observed which rats would take the drugs and which wouldn't, depending on whether the rats were in a paradise where they could interact with other rats or if they were isolated.

They found social rats AVOIDED the drugs, whereas isolated rats relished in them.
