and then take it bc this bitch broke
lol
I unironically have had managers asking me if I could take on overtime shifts.
First thing I replied back was "are you gonna pay me more for it?"
i almost worked a 13 hr shift on christmas eve. ended up being 11 hrs bc my work is *very* serious about not going into overtime
my manager came up to me that night and he was like, βsooo i didnβt realize what time you came in and imma need you to go homeβ and i was like BYE, BITCH
showed right back up christmas morning tho :/
That sucks
I have stayed up later than my shift cleaning at every job, around 10-20 minutes, quite often. Or helping someone finish a job we were doing together. But I don't give away my time lol.
and my phone is on 3% help
o
love how onion boy just kinda copied rep?
around the holidays, weβre given a list of 3 holidays: thanksgiving, christmas, and new yearβs. you work 2/3 or all 3. you call out, youβre fired. everyone works christmas eve
you call out christmas eve, you better be in the hospital
oof
Ooof
yep. calling out on holidays is grounds for termination
I'm guessing you work retail?
yop
That explains it lol
I work in IT on the off season, while on season I work lawn sprinkler repairs with my dad, been doing so for the last few years.
i sometimes go out and do work with my dad. he fixes radiation meters
his constant exposure to radiation is why iβm like that
he apparently got hit in the leg with a blast of radiation when he was younger, so his bone is radioactive
Wha-
I've picked some good work habits, but I also am pretty ruthless as a result lol. For context, every time my dad charges the tech charge (which is my hours of labor) is 65 dollars an hour. So I've gotten used to value my time far more than the average tbh. If I am working that's time I am not doing whatever it is I want to do lol.
Also oof
i had to get that info from my uncle bc my dad wouldnβt tell me
i fuckin have 8 uncles and 1 bio aunt left
I see
wow.
i did a lot of work off the clock at the ranch i went to bc i was genuinely cared for the family, whose only income is the ranch, and i was genuinely grateful for the opportunity
plus, what else would i do?? my house had little to no wifi and i had no data at all
ppl be like βgo into town!!β town is fucking 9 miles away, u think gas comes free?
I quit and I'm back lol
Well, that's different. The family had your back. In those cases loyalty trumps hours on the clock tbh.
YAS
Y E S
i still made over $2K in 2 months
That's not bad.
