@timsandtoms but at 700 you can just get straight up drawing display

2019-11-14 11:22:09 UTC

sure needs computer with it

2019-11-14 11:22:19 UTC

Yeeeeah. Definitely not getting THAT one, although honestly, if I won a lotto I would. Having a digital paper notepad is neat, not just another screeen.

2019-11-14 11:22:22 UTC

(also that embed looks quite swag ? is it new thing)

2019-11-14 11:22:54 UTC

if others have not updated their client

At the most basic, I like it because it's a gadget, and it can be nice for little things like keeping track of BS while I'm playing games or something easy. If saving/recalling is on an affordable model, could possibly be useful, and I still like gadgets.

2019-11-14 11:23:46 UTC

@timsandtoms this is the alternative to the Sony
https://remarkable.com/

2019-11-14 11:23:48 UTC

but like

2019-11-14 11:23:50 UTC

again

2019-11-14 11:23:53 UTC

it's about $600

2019-11-14 11:24:06 UTC

sorry

2019-11-14 11:24:08 UTC

$500

2019-11-14 11:24:39 UTC

but basically it's just a drawing tablet with a paper on top

2019-11-14 11:24:42 UTC

was just about link ^ that too

2019-11-14 11:24:47 UTC

That's weird.

2019-11-14 11:24:55 UTC

its one of those midlegrounds what actualy can be good

2019-11-14 11:25:05 UTC

How many steps are we going to take before we get another apple Newton or whatever it was called

2019-11-14 11:25:36 UTC

ereader notepads are expensive

2019-11-14 11:25:37 UTC

like very

2019-11-14 11:25:45 UTC

then there is just bamboo-paper app to any tablet whatever

2019-11-14 11:25:51 UTC

Ereaders were pretty spendy at first too.

2019-11-14 11:25:55 UTC

Less niche though I guess.

2019-11-14 11:27:02 UTC

Yeah. A backlight Kindle is like. $60

2019-11-14 11:27:05 UTC

It's insane.

2019-11-14 11:27:10 UTC

<:thonk:288060975775612929>

2019-11-14 11:27:14 UTC

With how so many brands make their advertising weird and how many variations of tablets to right on there are I'm never 100% on what I'm looking at, haha. That Wacom Bamboo Folio, is that e-ink with an "Export to phone" button basically?

2019-11-14 11:27:39 UTC

What's even more insane is Amazon didn't lock it down making piracy impossible on the thing either. Just the ebooks they sell

2019-11-14 11:27:54 UTC

its like trying to find RGB pilot/panelmount indicator lights these days

2019-11-14 11:28:07 UTC

impossible to do unless you want to pay 60 per piece

2019-11-14 11:28:26 UTC

other option is buy cheap white-hat ones and mod them with rgb led your own

2019-11-14 11:28:34 UTC
2019-11-14 11:28:41 UTC

niche product but some people would use em if they had em

2019-11-14 11:28:48 UTC

which will not be as smooth or lagless as the remarkable or the sony

2019-11-14 11:32:27 UTC

Haha, yeah, jesus, I'm just getting a cheap one or a Boogie Board or something.

2019-11-14 11:33:02 UTC

I mean lets be real, when a normal ereader costs $150 for a good one, one that comes with WACOM isn't gonna be cheap lmao

2019-11-14 11:33:28 UTC

Well, only because it's too niche I think.

2019-11-14 11:34:03 UTC

yeah
