Which is why i want to Leave

2019-10-29 18:53:51 UTC

> We should not be forced to adopt policy because of people elected by other nations
We have the ability to implement policy as we see fit

2019-10-29 18:53:57 UTC

As long as it meets some requirements

2019-10-29 18:54:03 UTC

Policy that WE have the ability to veto.

2019-10-29 18:54:14 UTC

European Communities Act makes the law passed by MEP's superior to our own

2019-10-29 18:54:15 UTC

We can veto ANY EU legislation, if we don't, we're fine with it.

2019-10-29 18:54:16 UTC

actually we did not vote to be part of the EU

2019-10-29 18:54:31 UTC

Yet our PM has the ability to veto any legislation @The Electric Lizard

2019-10-29 18:54:33 UTC

We did @wacka

2019-10-29 18:54:37 UTC

This again lol

2019-10-29 18:54:38 UTC

we joined the EEC ... and voted to stay in that

2019-10-29 18:54:43 UTC

I have complete contempt for those wanting to allow 16-17 years old the vote, and EU nationals. Only British Adults should be allowd to vote. Either wait to be an adult, or become a British Citizen.

2019-10-29 18:54:50 UTC

We can veto it, But our MP's have been shown to lie about their position on the EU so i wouldn't be surprised if against the publics wishes the Government decided to give away our veto

2019-10-29 18:54:53 UTC

And then voted in governments and a parliament which accepted the expansion of the EU @wacka

2019-10-29 18:54:56 UTC

So yes. We voted.

2019-10-29 18:54:58 UTC

then it became the EU... and EVENTUALLY we got a vote on it and chose to leave

2019-10-29 18:54:59 UTC

Up the voting age to 21

2019-10-29 18:55:24 UTC

We had elected members there at EVERY stage of the process @wacka

2019-10-29 18:55:27 UTC

every campaigning PM back to tony blair promised a referendum on the EU

2019-10-29 18:55:29 UTC

Actually, just allow people who pay income tax to vote, whatever age

2019-10-29 18:55:43 UTC

we voted them in because they were going to give us a vote on the EU

2019-10-29 18:56:03 UTC

only one actually delivered on that... and we voted leave

2019-10-29 18:56:40 UTC

we dont even let 16yr olds watch game of thrones

2019-10-29 18:56:48 UTC

It depends on the person

2019-10-29 18:56:54 UTC

I'd let them

2019-10-29 18:57:00 UTC

Some 16 years olds will know enough and be mature enough to vote

2019-10-29 18:58:05 UTC

to quote sargon "depends on the child" ๐Ÿ˜›

2019-10-29 18:58:19 UTC

Well in this case it does

2019-10-29 18:58:50 UTC

.

2019-10-29 19:01:11 UTC

Personally I'd only let people in employment and home owners vote

2019-10-29 19:01:14 UTC

16 year olds can work

2019-10-29 19:01:16 UTC

Be taxed

2019-10-29 19:01:28 UTC

I say only landowners can vote

2019-10-29 19:01:32 UTC

And many are just as informed or more than the 80 year olds

2019-10-29 19:01:35 UTC

Yeah, if you work I'm inclined to say that you can vote

2019-10-29 19:01:50 UTC

Bring it right back to the last civil war the UK had

new stream because old one died

2019-10-29 19:02:04 UTC

> And many are just as informed or more than the 80 year olds

2019-10-29 19:02:07 UTC

Doubt that @PureEvilPie

2019-10-29 19:02:09 UTC

HIGHLY.
