It shouldn't change anything, but who knows, maybe it helps if I tell you that I don't like most postmodern art?
I fully understand the arguments and philosophy behind postmodern art
Well, I can tell you how I understand postmodernism and its place in the world of art
If you like
I think it's bullshit because it produces garbage that only wine sipping, large scarf, super soy latte, coastal liberals seem to love
Most other people just see an abstract mess
This is an example of postmodern art
I think it's absolutely beautiful

Looks more like impressionism to me
Well it has many postmodern elements
Post modern art to me is that stack of yellow painted steel bars in front of a corporate office meant to convey a sense of wonder but which in reality everyone just calls "the French fries"
Or like I said earlier about the toilet
That's an elitist view on postmodern art
Those who hold that art as the only true examples of postmodernism, whether they critique it or glorify it, are elitists in their own ways
Art snobs if you will
For different reasons, the ones because their tastes are offended by it, and the others because everything else offends them
Or bores them
Basically what I'm trying to say is this
A trend in postmodernism doesn't define all of postmodernism
Many postmodernists themselves admit that their peers went too far
I can't stand certain types of postmodern music, but there are other pieces that I enjoy on occasion
I would never claim that I'm right because my taste is right
And neither should those on the fringes do that
There's one thing though that I think is almost universally true and should be respected
There's a point where certain art becomes so unbearable to so many people that I think it's indefensible to force it into their everyday lives
For example, I believe children shouldn't be exposed to the fringes of atonal music
At least not in any way regularly
And certainly not without them having a say in it
The same thing goes for period blood art, etc.
Postmodern music? Would that be like the "winds" sound from 2001 a space odyssey
Or like
That guy who wrote a piano solo which is just 5 minutes of total silence
Can you link me to those wind sounds?
It's the freaky vocals whenever they discover one of the monoliths
I'm on my phone so it might take a minute to find
Starts around 2:30
5:20 are the wind sounds
Jesus lol
Ok yeah it's the freaky vocals from 2:30
