*Thanks* to the EU.

2019-09-15 23:47:17 UTC

IE. levels of wealth are increasing across Europe..

2019-09-15 23:47:17 UTC

That's why you preserve States' rights, just as we did in the United States, though I suggest a careful study of how they've been eroded, to ensure the same mistakes aren't made in the EU as have been in the US.

2019-09-15 23:47:28 UTC

That just means it’s taking wealth from one area and placing it into others

2019-09-15 23:47:53 UTC

And Greece, Italy, Spain is in a shit ton of debt

2019-09-15 23:48:04 UTC

Britain France and Germany pay most of the bill

2019-09-15 23:48:04 UTC

You allow some autonomy for each individual states, but the federal government dictates foreign policy, domestic policy, monetary, etc

2019-09-15 23:48:11 UTC

Basically as Jeremy has said

2019-09-15 23:48:24 UTC

So? @Snake

2019-09-15 23:48:28 UTC

Good luck

2019-09-15 23:48:34 UTC

Perhaps in the eyes of economic nationalists, but laissez-faire trade has long since been mathematically proven as better than mercantile systems.

2019-09-15 23:48:39 UTC

A price worth paying for a unified, wealthy Europe?

2019-09-15 23:48:40 UTC

I don’t see it working but I’ll accept that I can be wrong

2019-09-15 23:48:46 UTC

It's currently working out.

2019-09-15 23:48:53 UTC

Idk

2019-09-15 23:49:00 UTC

I don’t see it working out

2019-09-15 23:49:08 UTC

Even right now

2019-09-15 23:49:19 UTC

It’s a noble goal

2019-09-15 23:49:25 UTC

Europe is more prosperous than ever?

2019-09-15 23:49:30 UTC

weez wants golden chains

2019-09-15 23:49:32 UTC

There is an alternative perspective to view the matter, Snake.

2019-09-15 23:49:48 UTC

Rather than State competition, you have competition on the level of individuals.

2019-09-15 23:49:55 UTC

Because it can it can focus its economy on butter not guns

2019-09-15 23:50:06 UTC

Lucky us.

2019-09-15 23:50:09 UTC

We can expand it.

2019-09-15 23:50:14 UTC

And then in the future, change the focus.

2019-09-15 23:50:21 UTC

Towards military spending if we so choose.

2019-09-15 23:50:36 UTC

Thus, the fundamental differences in objective and desires.

2019-09-15 23:50:39 UTC

But at the moment it's in our best interest to unify Europe and make it wealthy.

2019-09-15 23:50:56 UTC

You have Europeans in favor of State competition, who see the State as the pinnacle of their lives.

2019-09-15 23:51:19 UTC

Then, you have Europeans who desire individualism.

2019-09-15 23:51:36 UTC

wealth unless your on the Mediterranean

2019-09-15 23:51:56 UTC

Things which can obviously improve.

2019-09-15 23:52:11 UTC

And has actually been improving for the majority of Europeans.

2019-09-15 23:52:15 UTC

Correct, Weez.

2019-09-15 23:52:36 UTC

This was the realization of the US centuries ago, in seeking to ratify the US Constitution.

2019-09-15 23:53:14 UTC

In Jeremys example, obviously not everyone is the same, but the majority is significantly better than they were.

2019-09-15 23:53:17 UTC

Which is what matters.

2019-09-15 23:53:35 UTC

Well when I mean state action here’s the thing; there is always going to be a desire for a independent nation state. I think we can look at Yugoslavia, Croatia wanted its own state. Some of those individually minded people might think the EU is more like a super state consolidating power

2019-09-15 23:53:42 UTC

Nationalism is what I mean

2019-09-15 23:54:05 UTC

Finding the balance between federalization and states-rights is what's important
