my guess is, they plan to finally "agree" to no backstop ... then years later say, we told you!
EU plays the long game
that's all it can do if it dont collapse before
*which it should*
but tbh.... if absolutely neccessary... we built a wall in like.. 2015 for about £2m in like.. 2 weeks... so...
2mill? Damn that's cheap
better be electrified
and we built it in france
no its concrete with razor wire on top
noice
ironically it was around the time of Trumps rallies when he was saying build a wall... and UK lefties were saying who would do such a thing 😛
So is that settled then?
We wait a couple more days and see what the SC says
The supreme court will likely say "this is politics" and tell Scotland to "fuck off"
this is the patriarchy that women think is oppressing them https://twitter.com/klara_sjo/status/1174025213773791232?s=20
ngl that looks fun
Id be ok with it if all it did was check people against a list of official terrorists or people who are on arrest warrents
More spying, who could have guessed.
If all it did was check against some terrorist list... so it kept nothing on me whatsoever... i dunno, seems like a smaller thing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdytusXDozM This Jeff guy is pretty good
The bit at the end of the video is very very interesting
maybe one step further... maybe... if all cameras around london(or UK) basically had a list of recently released prisoners... like 6month-1yr (they dont tell anyone the exact time, its random for each person)... and cameras can keep an eye on released prisoners in public spaces
No one should have that kind of "orwellian" power ... because it will be abused eventually and dictatorships really love any way to control their population. Neighboring GDR had their Stasi and they would have loved to have such technology.
well they already keep an eye on prisoners out on bail... they are supposed to be heavily restricted as is
but under the UK parliament... they would have to vote in such an orwellian party
Yes ... but there is always the tactic of "just one tiny step more" ... and thousands of them make up a mile.
So the only sensible way is categoric NO!
i dunno... if it saves some lives id be ok with it.... its not like theres a human watching over all of them...
You CAN follow criminals other ways too ... LOOK FOR THEM by using police officers, but that is MORE EXPENSIVE!
just an AI using facial rec with only a list of some people for a certain length of time
Using "people" is not really abuseable ... or at least it is harder to.
the only time it would even be used is like... if there is an actual crime against someone
Sure, "its just an AI" ... but PEOPLE (who might want to abuse it) have to program it. Just watch "Enemy of the State" for a scenario.
the AI says - Oh recently release Mohammed al-Islam was in the area recently released from prison a month ago for terrorism plots just before the bomb went off...
what you are saying... is that people will use it underhandedly... well... if the tech exists then that will already be happening... im talking about legally
The point I am arguing is that the CAMERAS are the problem ... and the UK should revert to THE BOBBY ON THE BEAT ... but that is a bit more expensive even though cameras cant prevent anything while policemen being near might.
Cameras are used because they are CHEAPER ... it is a COST CUTTING MEASURE!
cameras are good evidence for solving crimes... not to mention preventative
