I can imagine that the causes can be quite different between pedo/ephebo/hebephilia too, even though it's often all called pedophilia.
Yeah, that's probably true
Pedo is probably the one most-likely influenced by trauma sustained during childhood (cultural influences, too)
I mean, some people call attraction to 17yos pedophilia just because it's illegal in some states, and the causes there would be widely different, most likely.
I'd argue that hebephilia isn't NEARLY as bad as pedophilia or even ephebophilia
mainly because older teens generally LOOK like adults
what is it exactly? like around 14?
Hebephilia is like 15-17 IIRC
but lemme check
okay nvm
I'm retarded
well, then I'd say that just fine
I meant ephebophilia
on the upper end at least
hebephilia is 11-14
though Hebephilia kinda makes sense coming from a cultural lense
ah; yeah that's the border territory
specifically in areas and time-periods where mortality rates were high
I'd argue that Hebephilia is merely a byproduct of those times
That was Victorian Era, yeah?
SCORCHED EARTH: FIREY DENIALY PART 2
@SkeF Victorian and Pre-Victorian, actually
I see.
yeah; today it's largely a question of "can the person consent"
In periods when they didn't give a fuck about consent either way...
RE: areas such as Colonial America, where mortality rates tended to be incredibly high
(especially the Chesapeake area, from what I've recently heard)
I'll have to look into whether or not hebephilia's more common in that area, though
You guys are idiots
"Layers of White" is genius
there's that image floating around, of newspapers about ~25yo marrying 11yo and how he gave her a teddy as a wedding gift
from early 1900s
from the US
That was ordinary back then
My Nono married my Nona when she was 14 and he was 20
they lived happily ever after until death
Yes
Drunkinly happy
And now are dead
