lmao
anyway i gotta go now, that enough bigbraining for me tonight
later
catch yall later
Look, the PM gets elected, he/she proposes a commissioner. The voter has no say in who it is at all
also eu big gay
you vote for representatives to represent you
like, at all
isnt that democracy?
But you don't vote for that representative
or wut
"representative"
eu parliament is segregated from representative
are govs representantives or not?
MEPs cant actually do a whole lot other than make suggestions
Let's say the the PM/president had to choose someone who would choose the person who chooses the Commissioner
those suggestions can be ignored
anyway i said id fuck off
Would that be democratic?
What's the line?
people vote for gov-------->PM/gov------>chooses commisioner
That's not democratic, though
sorry but we live in a world of representative democracies
direct democracy is not available yet
for millions of people
A representative can pass legislation, etc.
That's fine
But how can they choose someone for the most important job, basically a higher position than their own, without anyone voting for it?
Direct democracy sounds like a complete nightmare.
we the people give them that power
by voting for them
to become goverment
Yes, but you don't vote for the actual commissioners
how is this not democratic
There is a layer of representation which is redundant
Again, I'm saying if there were 5 layers or 12 layers, what would be the line where it would not be okay?
Like a person that chooses a person who chooses a person who chooses a person...
dunno how many times i can say the same thing tbh
So you'd be fine with 3 or 4 layers of choosing?
