My mother is a teacher.
She has had to put up with this for decades now.
my grandmother was a teacher
She openly says that students now-a-day’s are worse than they were when I was going through the education system.
@Little Boots no of course not. The education system is meant to get students jobs. Which it is failing to do.
These are not exclusive issues, but one is a societal woe and the other is a symptom of a failed education system
And she places that squarely on the parents.
We can't pass laws or reforms that make parents not dogshit
and what you speak of resulted from women starting to work , community collapsing and parents choosing to beleive kids over teachers
We CAN fix education
that put teachers and parents at odds
@UnfilteredGarbage and that’s because they’re too busying spending time disciplining children than actually educating them. When a teacher has to waste ten minutes just telling the class to stop what they’re doing and actually listen to them, then that’s a problem of discipline.
and it meant there was no way to discplince the kids and the kids knew it
in my grandmother's day, this was COMPLETELY differnt
@Little Boots they have no intent to actually educate them. Public schools are not funded based on merit, and post-secondary education is entirely an economic scheme. There's no impetus to perform the intended function in either scenario.
The education system up until now was working pretty well. It’s when the new wave, garbage parenting came about, things began to take a nose dive.
the parents almost aLWAYS took the side of the teacher and trusted teachers to discpline accordingly
@ManAnimal back when parents gave a shit about their children.
that's overly simplistic
Which is what I’m getting at.
@Little Boots the education system was working pretty well up until the US became a service-based economy
It’s not a teaching problem. It’s a basic parenting issue.
you've just never dealt with your counter-parts
@Little Boots it's both. And it's a structural problem, especially in post-secondary education
it's not a parenting problem; it's a LACK of parenting problem
cause parenting takes TWO people
Funny thing is I never had any issues because I simply behaved in class and did what was asked of me.
not one
then you've had it EASY
All the problems that came up all came from others refusing to follow some simple ass instructions and rules.
@Little Boots you sound like you have a very limited scope of understanding the problems with the US education system
It is very much a discipline issue.
that isn't the only issue
The university debt mill will not disappear just because parents get sterner on their children
The new stuff is a direct result of the problems of parents not doing their job, which is now forcing teachers to do more roles than what they should be doing.
Teachers won't stop directly preaching socialism in state-funded schools just because parents get sterner with their childrne
again, you are making MASSIVE assumptions regarding other kids
@UnfilteredGarbage it would probably disappear if the people protesting all the time actually bothered getting a job.
many are MUCH stronger and tougher than you
they have no REASON to listen
@Little Boots no it wouldn't. How would that even connect to what I'm talking about
