They aren’t being disciplined.

2019-09-28 05:22:30 UTC

Especially at the home.

2019-09-28 05:22:44 UTC

you are ASSUMING there is only one mechanism for dealing with life

2019-09-28 05:22:55 UTC

assuming that everyone THINKS

2019-09-28 05:22:59 UTC

like you do

2019-09-28 05:23:02 UTC

they don't

2019-09-28 05:23:05 UTC

As a result, the teacher has to waste their time disciplining the students because they don’t know basic, common sense rules like “don’t talk while the teacher is talking.”

2019-09-28 05:23:11 UTC

@Little Boots sure, but that's secondary to the education system failing its basic responsibilities of producing valid social participants and securing economic futures for the kids

2019-09-28 05:23:12 UTC

this is why u don't comprehend the left

2019-09-28 05:23:22 UTC

this is why the left is the way they are

2019-09-28 05:23:27 UTC

And also producing a homebrewed subversive 5th column

2019-09-28 05:23:29 UTC

damn academics

2019-09-28 05:24:03 UTC

they focus on the smarter kids and can't wrap their hands around the tougher nor more perceptive kids

2019-09-28 05:24:06 UTC

@UnfilteredGarbage the education system is not meant to babysit children. The problem is dead-beat parents not giving a single shit about raising their kids and just dumping their students on the teachers so they have to be responsible for the child.

2019-09-28 05:24:17 UTC

My mother is a teacher.

2019-09-28 05:24:29 UTC

She has had to put up with this for decades now.

2019-09-28 05:24:30 UTC

my grandmother was a teacher

2019-09-28 05:24:56 UTC

She openly says that students now-a-day’s are worse than they were when I was going through the education system.

2019-09-28 05:25:08 UTC

@Little Boots no of course not. The education system is meant to get students jobs. Which it is failing to do.
These are not exclusive issues, but one is a societal woe and the other is a symptom of a failed education system

2019-09-28 05:25:12 UTC

And she places that squarely on the parents.

2019-09-28 05:25:34 UTC

We can't pass laws or reforms that make parents not dogshit

2019-09-28 05:25:39 UTC

and what you speak of resulted from women starting to work , community collapsing and parents choosing to beleive kids over teachers

2019-09-28 05:25:43 UTC

We CAN fix education

2019-09-28 05:25:54 UTC

that put teachers and parents at odds

2019-09-28 05:26:08 UTC

@UnfilteredGarbage and that’s because they’re too busying spending time disciplining children than actually educating them. When a teacher has to waste ten minutes just telling the class to stop what they’re doing and actually listen to them, then that’s a problem of discipline.

2019-09-28 05:26:19 UTC

and it meant there was no way to discplince the kids and the kids knew it

2019-09-28 05:26:35 UTC

in my grandmother's day, this was COMPLETELY differnt

2019-09-28 05:26:52 UTC

@Little Boots they have no intent to actually educate them. Public schools are not funded based on merit, and post-secondary education is entirely an economic scheme. There's no impetus to perform the intended function in either scenario.

2019-09-28 05:26:55 UTC

The education system up until now was working pretty well. It’s when the new wave, garbage parenting came about, things began to take a nose dive.

2019-09-28 05:27:08 UTC

the parents almost aLWAYS took the side of the teacher and trusted teachers to discpline accordingly

2019-09-28 05:27:32 UTC

@ManAnimal back when parents gave a shit about their children.

2019-09-28 05:27:42 UTC

that's overly simplistic

2019-09-28 05:27:42 UTC

Which is what I’m getting at.

2019-09-28 05:27:46 UTC

@Little Boots the education system was working pretty well up until the US became a service-based economy

2019-09-28 05:27:50 UTC

parents sTILL give a shit

2019-09-28 05:27:54 UTC

It’s not a teaching problem. It’s a basic parenting issue.

2019-09-28 05:28:05 UTC

you've just never dealt with your counter-parts

2019-09-28 05:28:15 UTC

@Little Boots it's both. And it's a structural problem, especially in post-secondary education

2019-09-28 05:28:33 UTC

it's not a parenting problem; it's a LACK of parenting problem

2019-09-28 05:28:46 UTC

cause parenting takes TWO people

2019-09-28 05:28:47 UTC

Funny thing is I never had any issues because I simply behaved in class and did what was asked of me.
