I’m not
@poopcanoe because anal fissures don't get me hard. But neither do animals, just pointing out your description of "normal" isn't helping your case. And if you're about to complain about this being pedantic. It's a political discussion server. Get used to it
Gday lads
'allo 'allo!
How are you mate?
Alright. Dealing with a pathological liar in the Xenoi channels.
I don't lie
I tell my truth
Fair call. Can’t see those channels yet but will get there eventually.
the shit going on with the british parliament is reinforcing my belief that the parliamentary system of having the legislature elect/appoint the head of government is shit.
Aight I thought that was obviously facetious but fair enough.
Just prepping the newbies, be prepared to defend your sense of humor. Mostly as practice for when someone genuinely challenges it
Aight I can respect that I guess
Also, get a pfp
Yeah hold on let me find a suitably comedic anime girl. I am after all a basic bitch.

Adding to koscheiundying's point, is there a governmental system, current or historic, that doesn't have a single figurehead. Hmmm. Might Google that. I mean obviously the president has limited power but it's interesting.
Oooo
But all I'm really talking about is that the head of government in a democratic system should either be elected by popular vote or indirectly elected like in the US, through a body that doesn't serve some other major governmental/political function
having the legislature appoint the executive is a shitshow waiting to happen, IMO
Very interesting, I didn't know that so thanks for piquing my curiosity
I can see why that might be a problem, the legislative body may well want to influence who gets in based purely from wanting to make their job easier. Is that your primary concern with it?
I think it tips the balance of power too heavily towards the legislature
A lot of the rhetoric about the proroguing is basically "Boris is defying the sovereignty of the parliament" or something to that effect
which is obviously a terrible take
Ahoy !
Presumably because democracy is more important than the power of the legislative branch in your opinion?
sort of
legislative and executive power are considered seperate things for a reason
Giving the legislature so much control over the latter isn't a good idea
We need to implement a Social Credit System ASAP
:|
any more than it would be to give the executive tons of power over the legislature
Makes sense, something interesting for me to think about at least
that said, regarding the multiple executive things
actually nevermind
Hahah no worries
